31DC2013 Day 20: Water Marble

Hello there glittery criatures of Planet Earth, it's almost Friday!!
Today is water marble day and I have to say I had an exhausting time with this one. I'm not very good at it and about a year ago I was obsessed with Colette's videos from My Simple Little Pleasures. I wasted a TON of nail polish, so for this particular challenge I decided to buy cheap ones from Wal-Mart since a friend had told me once they worked pretty good and they're only $10 pesos which is less than a dollar. I picked up a violet and green one and decided to give China Glaze Shower Together a go since I remember it worked and I hadn't used it in a while.
So yeah I did like eight attemps and only like six were the ones used for my both hands. It was all messy and took a long time but here it is.

Sooo technically the polishes I used are so cheap they didn't even had a name lol but the blue is China Glaze Shower Together and my white base is Nina French White.

Also, that beautiful glitter is Finger Paints Peacock Portrait. Look at those colors!! I saw it at Sally and couldn't help buying it instantly! Finger Paints has some really awesome glitters and this is definitely one of those.

Some more love to that glitter...

I liked the final result and was very happy to wear it. Also, Peacock Portrait is a glitter that will easily go to my most-used stash! The colors are so beautiful that I specifically tried to use the same colors and I'm telling you in person it looked pretty good.
Hope you enjoyed this and I'll see on my next post;) As I said before, the next part of the challenge it's all gonna be Inspired By Christmas... Song, Movie, Book, etc. I'm so looking forward to start it!

31DC2013 Day 19: Galaxies

Hi glittery puppies!! Happy Tuesday! Sorry for the late-night post. I hope everyone's starting off this week with the right foot. I know I am so far! I have a tiny story about this nail art today. It was the most annoying thing ever!!! Almost every post I read said it was SO easy, only some small sponging and that was it! Super easy! Even my dog could do it! Then I read Chalkboard Nails 'post about it not being that easy and I was afraid. If it wasn't that easy for her it would be hell hard for me! So I followed her steps and even some colors aaaaand it was a failure. Lol, my first try was a joke. Then I re-painted my nails and decided to try the sponging before applying again and until the third try on a sheet of paper I felt satisfied. Then it was ime of the magic, and honestly I felt pretty happy with it!

Colors used: Base - Finger Paints Black Expressionism; Sponging - China Glaze White On White, Color Club Rev'd Up, China Glaze Deviantly Daring, Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow; Glitters - Color Club S'il Vous Plaît, LA Colors Sparkling Diamonds.

To create this look I painted one coat of Black Expressionism on all my nails, then with a piece of a make up sponge and tweezers I gently, and I say veeeery gently, dabbed White On White. Next color was Rev'd Up and with a new piece of sponge I dabbed over White On White without covering it completely, then I used Deviantly Daring covering almost completely the white spaces left and finally I sponged a bit of Art Nouv-Yellow to add more texture. To simulate the stars I painted one very thin coat of S'il Vous Plaît, then I painted one thicker coat of Sparkling Diamonds, without it being too chunky.

It was nice to do something I've never done before and actually like the -second- result, I think it looks like a galaxy to me but I don't know what you'd think! Haha, hope you liked this design. I'll see you very soon for my next nail art.

31DC2013 Day 18: Half Moons

Heeeeey there glitter gals! How are you doing this wonderful week? I hope you're all enjoying the beginning of December and getting ready for Christmas and 2014. Who would have thought the year would pass by so damn quickly?!
Anywhatever, today is half moon day and I'm so happy for this next nail art. I actually went to a First Communion and it mached my outfit and the occasion so perfectly; it was meant to be. I'll be definitely be re-doing this manicure again, it's just so pretty and formal but not boring.

Colors I used were Finger Paints Black Expressionism, my fave nude: Color Club Best Dressed List, and China Glaze Swing Baby. Finally I topped everything with Color Club Matte-ified.

To create the half moon manicure I followed this super easy tutorial by Julie Ventura that has saved my life multiple times. It's so much better and easier than using reinforcement labels.
To add a little spice, with the help of my smallest dotting tool I made small dots following the half moon outline.

I absolutely LOVED this design! I was crazy about it! It's so subtle and formal yet so sophisticated and lovely. It's something I'd love to wear again.
I hope you like this nail art as much as I did. I'll see you soon with the next challenge!

31DC2013 Day 16: Tribal Nail Art

Heello glittery creatures!! Welcome to today's nail art nightmare... Well, first of all I gotta say it's not a complete nightmare, I think I did a pretty nice job, BUT I was afraid of the top coat dragging all my design so I took the photos without it and then I forgot to take some with it, so the photos I'll show you are indeed pretty lame...
Onto the design, it took me a chapter of The Walking Dead and half of my YouTube subscriptions and I did my left hand at night and my right hand the next morning, so yeah, to be honest it was quite a lot of work (mostly because of the straight thin lines). And I couldn't capture them in their gloriousness :(

So, beforehand I'm sooooorry about the lack of top coat.

For the base colors I used Color Club Best Dressed List, Color Club Rad Nomad, China Glaze Roguish Red and Finger Paints Lavender Highlight.

For the actuall tribal I painted thin lines with the same colors (different as the base obviously) and then with black and white polish and the help of my striper polish I did all the thin lines; and to spice it up Iadded some dots with my smalles dotting tool.

A shot of my thumb

And some love for my rightey that always gets left behind. I'm right handed so it's obviously not a very neat job.

The only shot of my hands/nails with top coat I could get from my camera roll was this one where I'm showing off my delicious post-workout meal! (It's chorizo, Swiss, broccoli and celery, in case you're wondering).

Well, I'm sorry about this lame post:( I'll make sure this won't happen again. I hope you liked it (even without the topcoat); I really loved wearing this! Got lots and lots of compliments!

31DC2013 Day 13: Animal Print!

Heeeello, glittery puppeeeehs! Happy Hump Day! I feel like I always say this... Anyways today I got my animal print nail art to show you. I really loved this mani and I ended up wearing it for almost a week which is a lot for me lol. I didn't want to choose between ONE animal print cause I just couldn't pick a favorite so I decided to do them all! We've got a tiger-zebra-giraffe-leopard mix and match here!

My top coat bleeded and messed up with the leopard and zebra design, though it wasn't visible at hand distance nor in real life.
For these designs I used a big dotting tool, a striper nail art brush and a small nail art brush.

For the giraffe on my index I used Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow and L.A. Colors Chocolate Shimmer; to do the leopard on my middle finger I used Color Club Best Dressed List, Finger Paints Black Expressionism and again L.A. Colors Chocolate Shimmer; for the zebra on my ring finger design I used Orly White Tips and Finger Paints Black Expressionism; and finally for my tiger pinky I used China Glaze Roguish Red and Finger Paints Black Expressionism, again.

I realized during this mani that there's a severe lack of oranges and yellows in my nail polish collection... They're just not colors that I usually go for and everytime I intend to buy them I look at other colors or collections and end up buying somthing else hahah, I need to change that though!

And if you're wondering what's on my thumb it was Color Club Hydrangea Kiss paired with China Glaze Flock Together, it could be a bird-feather-print... hahaha
Anyways I hope you liked and enjoyed this as much as I did! I'll see you later this week.

31DC2013 Day 8: Rainbow Nails!

Hey there, pretty baby tigers! Roaaaar! Happy hump day! I hipe everyone's having a great week so far:)
For today's challenge I wanted to try something I've never tried before and that was the dry marble! It is a bit of a mess but I liked the psychedelic effect it gave to my nails from hand distance.
This is something I'll be definitely trying again! I think that if you practice and get good at it you can make great designs.

I started with a white base color, then when it was completely dry I dabbed vertically all the colors in order on my nail and while it was still wet I used my smallest dotting tool to drag the polish from one side.

The colors I used were Orly White Tips, China Glaze With Love, China Glaze Roguish Red, Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow, a green neon from a spanish brand called Olé that has no name, China Glaze Shower Together, and Finger Paints Lavender Highlight.

I hope you liked this hot mess of a nail art, I hope next time I try this dry marble design I get a much better result. See you soon for the next challenge on the 31 Day Challenge 2013!

31DC2013 Day 7: Black & White

Happy monday everyone! Finally, here they are: my black and white nails!! When thinking about the desing I wanted to create with black and white polish the first thing that came to my mind was a chessboard so I went right to it without hesitation! This was my first ever checkered nail art and even though it isn't as perfect as I'd like it to be I'm quite happy with the result :)

I used Orly White Tips as my base color and then with the help of a small dotting tool I placed tiny dots to creat the "corners" of the squares, finally with a small nail art brush and Finger Paints Black Expressionism I freehanded the lines and filled the squares to create the pattern.

The only really bad thing was that my top coat (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri) dragged the black polish and makes it look quite messy :( I'm really sad about that part because until that I was pretty happy with the result. Sigh, well sometimes you win and sometimes you lose...

I really hope you can forgive that imstake of mine, cause I still don't :'( Haha, well I hope to see you very soon this week for the next 31 Day Challenge design!

31DC2013 Day 6: Violet Nails!

Hey, guys!! I'm so sorry I haven't post anything in almost two weeks but I didn't have my laptop with me so you know how that is... :(
Anyways, I still did the 31 Day Challenge, and I'm wearing my rainbow nails right now! I'm presenting to you my violet nails though, you know, so we can continue with the challenge as normal:)
For my violet nails I did something I had in my mind for a loooong time and I had just bought Hydrangea Kiss and thought it was the perfect violet/lilac. I guess I should've done this on the gradient day but I actually want to do a gradient nail art for that day and not a gradient manicure so I guess it's fine.

I did the ombré manicure technique using white polish and black polish. I added one and two drops of white polish for my index and thumb and then one and two drops of black for my ring and pinky.
I was surprised to see that the resulting color from mixing black was a taupe with violet hints but it looked pretty cool to me, plus I adore taupe.

The colors I used were Color Club Hyndrangea Kiss, Orly White Tips, Finger Paints Black Expressionism and the glitter is L.A. Colors Sparkling Diamonds

I hope you enjoyed this post! And I promise to be back tomorrow for the next 31 Day Challenge nails!! :)

31DC2013 Day 3: Yellow Nails!

Heeeeello, beautiful ponies! I'm sorryyyy it's technically tomorrow but I'm gonna pretend as it's September 10th and my yellow nails for the third day of the 31 Day Challenge match perfectly Suicide Awareness Day. It is a beautiful cause and if you wore yellow today or wrote "Love" on your wrist you, sir or madame, have my respect. :)
Well, for this day I decided to go for a really simple design and went for white polka dots!

I used Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow as my base color and Orly White Tips for the polka dots I did with a small dotting tool.

Sorry about the state of my cuticles :s

This was a very simple but cute manicure that I'm enjoying wearing. I hope you liked this simple desing and I'll see you later this week (I hope!) :)
Please spread the word about Suicide Awareness Day and help this beautiful cause. Every 40 seconds someone commits around the world and it would be amazing if someday we could stop this. And if you know about someone going through a tough time, support them, you don't know what it would mean to them.

Sunset at the Beach!

Hello, there moonlight owls! How was your Saturday? I had a girls' day with my mom; went to the cinema, grabbed some dinner, overdose on Krispy Kreme's... You know, the usual.
This is my last post before the #31DC2013!!! I'm so excited!! Right now I'm just about to start doing my nails!:)

Well, today I've got the sunset, beach and birds on my nails, isn't that amazing!! This was my very first attempt to do a "sunset-like" design so yes, I did have my mistakes and byb mistakes I mean my cuticles look horrible! Seriously, I'm sorry:(

For this desing I *think* I used Orly White Tips, Revlon Impulsive, China Glaze Fifth Avenue, China Glaze Roguish Red, Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow and Finger Paints Black Expressionism.

First, I painted my nails with a coat of White Tips so the colors would pop, then using a make up sponge I sponged the gradient. To be honest I don't remember if I used Fifth Avenue or not, hmmm... Anyways, I think the effect was brilliant and then with my small brush I added the sand at the tip of my nails, then the palm trees on my thumb, index and ring and then some weird-shaped birds on my middle, pinky and (why not?) my thumb,

I really really liked this design, but if only I had cleaned up my cuticles it would have looked SO much better:( We all make mistakes and have to learn from them... :'( *sniff*
On the other side, this was very difficult for me and I was very proud with the final result.

I hope you liked this design and you can find forgiveness in your hearts for the awful state of my cuticles.
I'll see you tomorrow to start the 31 Day Challenge 2013 !! *squeals*

Circus Dots!

Hi, there colorful butterflies!! Happy friday!! I hope you have lots of plans for this weekend, I only have a party for some friends that are leaving town, whom I'll miss LOTS:(

Well, today I've got this colorful circus-inspired nail art that made me think about clowns and zebras with mohawks on their heads ( kidding I don't like circus with animals): ). Anyways the color combo really felt like a circus on my hands and was very eye-catching and fun.

My base color is a very soft and rpetty pink (didn't have name, sorry), the blue is China Glaze For Audrey, the green is China Glaze Running in Circles, the red-ish orange is China Glaze Roguish Red and the yellow is Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow.

I simply painted my nails with two coats of my base color, let it dry and with my small and large dotting tool I places my dots in a upside down V shape... kinda.

One more pic just for the heck of it;)

I hope you liked this nail art, cause I sure enjoyed wearing it!! Haha, see you tomorrow with another nail art and getting ready for the 31 Day Challenge!!! *squeals* This will be fun! I'm already thinking my nail art!! :D
Have a great friday!! TGIF!;)

Even More Holo!

Heeeello, pretty unicorns! Happy thursday! Smells like weekend on this spring air:)
Today I brought you this nail art I made that looked simply amazing! It's simple but it's beautiful and and attention seeker! Wearing this a lot of people asked about my mani and how I did it, even how I did the holo (?)... Some people don't even know that holo polish exists hahaha. Anyways here it is, my simple but not very subtle holo mani!

I used Color Club Blue Heaven and FingerPaints Shades of Dark and my top coat was Orly Sec 'N Dry.

I painted my accent nail with FingerPaints Shades Of Dark and the other nails with Color Club Blue Heaven. When my accent nail was dry I made the pattern using striping tape and then painted over it with Color Club Blue Heaven, then I immediately took off the striping tape using some tweezers and finally I added my top coat!

Of course my camera couldn't quite capture the beauty in this holo but it was truly amazing, I'm just in love with Color Club holos!!
I hope you liked this easy and simple nail art, see you soon!:)

Holo Craziness!!

Hello, sparkly unicorns! How have you been? I'm so sorry for disappearing, cause I always say I'll post often but then I don't. But I've got now, a loooot of old manis to show you:)
First I have this holo mani I made a while ago, when I was soooo happy for winter to be over and for all the pretty flowers to bloom. Cheesy? Well, I was really waiting for spring to come!! I also was very excited about these Color Club holos I got from Sally, I'd never used holos before and these were just WOW. So amazing!!! So easy to work with, and so stunning!! I couldn't stop looking at my hands!!

So I present to you Miss Bliss, a beautiful pink holo that I absolutely loved at first sight!

Under the sun this was stunning but even in the shade it looked beautiful and under artificial lights the holo was still visible!!
Now here is the mani I made with the two colors I got from Color Club (Miss Bliss & Blue Heaven).

I used two coats of Finger Paints Shades Of Dark and when it dried I taped my nails forming a V and a lightning on my ring finger, using a tutorial by Nailside that I can't find right now (maybe she erased it...?) Anyways, I used one coat of Blue Heaven and one coat of Miss Bliss on my ring finger for my left hand and for my right hand I inverted the colors. Then I top coated my design and DONE! :)
Here's a pic og these amazing bottles of holo madness!!

I swear as I type this I get excited about using those shades again cause they're truly beautiful!! I'd love to buy more holos from Color Club in a near future!
Well, magical unicorns I hoped you liked this post and I promise promise pinky promise to back soon! :)

Wannabe Leopard

Hey, guuuys!! :) How you doing? Happy wednesday, smells like a nice weekend! So, last week I went to a bar with some girl friends (it was a G.N.O.) and I wore a loose black blouse, nude pumps, and YES! Leopard print jeggings! And as the nail art  maniac I am, I decided to match my nails with my jeggings. BUT, I didn't have the exact nude for the background (I only have a greyish nude and a pink nude) so I went with Art Nouv-Yellow from Finger Paints. The result was a half giraffe half leopard animal. With the yellow background that I thought would be so much lighter, and the brown spots it was the perfect combo for a giraffe print, buuuut it had leopard spots instead... I still likes it a lot anyways, so here it is.

I used Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow, Finger Paints Black Expressionism and my dotting tool (sorry, but my brown polish has no label).

Sorry for the crappy photos:( It doesn't let me capture it correctly.

I did like it, and I actually wore for a loooong time, which in nail art world is five days. I've always loved doing leopard print nail art so maybe that's the reason why. I hope you liked it and I'll be back very soon. :)

Holiday Penguin!

Hello lacquered loves! How are you doing? I hope you're doing good, I'm sorry for being away for so long, but I'm working at a factory at the moment so I really don't have much time, and the only time I get is used for study purposes, so yeah my life is kinda boring and crappy right meow. But anyways, I have this nail art I wore after the new year's one, and now that I remember I wore it a week and a half ago and it seems ages to me. I haven't made any more nail arts cause I can get my nails broken at work so I've gotten them shorter and worn only hardener on them.:(
Well, here it is, my last holiday nail art: The amazing wannabe penguin!

I used China Glaze With Love, Color Club High Society, Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow, China Glaze Fifth Avenue, Orly White Tips and Finger Paints Black Expressionism for the penguin and for the other nails I used China Glaze Pizzazz (an awesome multicolor glitter) over Orly White Tips.

I followed this tutorial for the penguin, mine isn't so perfect but it's not that hard to do!! :)

I really liked this manicure even though the penguin might not look like a penguin in some angles...

I'm sorry for the long pause and I promise I'll upload non-stopping nail art next week. I've bought nail polishes that I haven't used yet:( so I really want to change that sad truth.
I hope you liked this mani, and I hope to see you next week!

Love, Pam♥
